It looks as if the film will more than satisfy the fans of the book, as well as boosting book sales, and the makers must be keeping everything crossed that they can replicate a similar kids of success to the....
It is a crying shame that not more Hollywood thrillers aren't as muscular, supple and gripping as this one. With a lesser director in charge, this could well have just ended up as a messy, trashy piece of pulp, but Fincher expertly pulls it all together by playing it straight down the line and keeping it intense and serious.
This is simply one of the best action films to hit the big screen for a long time, and even though they go down a tried and tested road, the old adage 'if it's not broken don't fix it' comes to mind.
