It is difficult to successfully penetrate any market in the technology space unless it is founded by industry experts with innovative concepts and unique offerings to fill a void that customers are currently missing.
The ability to store, compound date, and then synthesize results in an extensive analysis has more than ever become accessible through digital storage and cloud computing technologies.
While technology seems to be the cost and time efficiency driver in many industries, cloud computing is the emerging solution for the financial service industry, especially capital markets.
When it comes to cloud computing, I believe that the myth and the reality are not that far apart, and even some fears seem to be not that well founded. Those who have adopted the cloud find that it generally is exactly what they expected.
While there is a ton of hyped up, blown out and super hyperventilated information out there about how the cloud makes your life better, reduces your workload and ultimately makes your coffee and butters your toast, not much is said about how the cloud can help your company save or make money.
Cloud computing as it is today has been made possible by technological advances in the data center industry. Yes, data center, a term slightly less glamorous than cloud computing, that lays at the foundation of cloud computing.
But I think that all IT managers in medium sized companies should ask a few essential questions, like: would cloud computing help me get more for the money and will we be able to offer more to our customers more efficiently?
I have discussed both the benefits and disadvantages of cloud adoption, but it is time to bring some perspective on the matter from the point of view of those who have not yet moved to the cloud.
I would like to discuss steps to be undertaken when preparing for a cloud migration. The best thing you can do is take all measures to reduce risks and minimize their potential negative effect.
I believe that outsourcing providers will gradually turn into experts in migrating to the cloud, whether you wish to migrate some of your applications or build new ones.
