The course of true love they say never runs smooth. Finding a soul mate is probably our hearts desire but similar to finding a needle in a haystack

Today we have the new idea - speed dating. Where prospective new partners meet in an organised session. They get one or maybe two minutes to talk to each other and discover if they "click" before moving on.

"You only get one chance to make a good first impression" was never truer than in speed dating.

Finding someone through the Internet is another hit and miss technique. At least you get to think about it and look at photos of the partners on offer.

All good and well and many find the partners they seek in these new ways. Finding the new partner is only the first step along the way. What happens when you then start to get to know them?

"Old habits die hard" and we all have them - habits that is. Breaking in a new partner and exposing them to your habits is a set of rocks on which many hopes flounder.

"Cleanliness is next to Godliness" surely runs true with any new partner, clothes you wear and wash, your appearance and the way you smell. Freshness is everything like the washing on the line.

Every time I load my clothes airer I think of new people who come into my life and my set of filters through which they must pass. The first time I visit their flat is a chance to see "them" in action so to speak.

It’s the unspoken things that we all check on. What’s in their toilet bag? How tidy are they? Do they wash up after a meal? Is the place full of laundry?

I like to see laundry in a central place. On a floor mounted or wall mounted airer. Operating silently 24/7 and using zero energy. It's not a lot to ask or a heavy filter to go through. Love me - love my airer!
