Four Must Have Emergency Supplies

Many of us live with the feel-good fact that disasters will never strike us. However, the harsh truth is that even though you live in an area that is not very prone to earthquakes, hurricanes, or floods, you may still get stuck in an emergency due to a terrorist attack or any other such situation. When emergencies strike, no excuses or beliefs can help you survive. Only thing that will help you is the emergency supplies you have carried along. Given below is a list of four must have emergency supplies to face any kind of emergencies -

Water: Water is the most important human requirement to survive. One may survive for sometime without food, but water is required to stay hydrated. You must place one gallon of water per person per day in your emergency kit. Make sure to periodically replace water bottles in your emergency kit with new ones.


Food and Medicines: Although water is the most important requirement of any emergency kits, still some other items are also required to complete the emergency supplies. Canned food, first aid supplies, medicines, batteries, radios; flashlights should also be kept in the emergency kit.

Cash: In case of emergencies, the power gird may be affected. You cannot trust an ATM Card reader to provide you money during emergencies. Therefore, you need cash to cover yourself during disasters. Experts suggest having an amount of $300 in hand to cover during emergencies.

Recheck your stock: The emergency requirement of you and your family might change from time to time. You might have had children, or may have certain medical requirements now that have not existed five years ago. Therefore always re-evaluate your emergency needs at regular intervals and replace the old stock with the new ones as per the latest requirements.

Having emergency supplies handy can save you tackle with any kind of emergencies. This might not save you entirely from disasters, but can at least help you survive until the help arrives.
