The Stonehenge Company earned a Gahanna Department of Parks and Recreation Service to the Community award for its contributions to the Inaugural Parks and Recreation Foundation Gala hosted at the Creekside Conference and Event Center.

Each year, the Service to the Community awards are presented by the Gahanna Parks and Recreation Board to recognize the efforts of Gahanna residents, businesses and civic organizations who volunteer to promote the vitality of the community through support for parks and recreation facilities, programs and events.

?The Gahanna Department of Parks and Recreation has been a committed partner in helping us to revitalize Olde Gahanna with the development of Creekside Gahanna and adjacent Creekside Park,? said Mo Dioun, president and CEO of The Stonehenge Company. ?Likewise, we are dedicated to supporting the efforts of the Foundation and firmly believe that its initiatives play an invaluable role in promoting the health and wellness of our community.?

The Gahanna Department of Parks and Recreation oversees 40 properties and provides a wide range of recreational opportunities including league sports, swimming, paddle boating, golf and biking trails as well as numerous programmed activities and cultural events. However, while these services receive funding from the City of Gahanna, their needs often exceed the city?s available financial resources.

The newly formed Gahanna Parks and Recreation Foundation is a non-profit organization devoted to supporting and improving the quality of the city?s parks and recreation services to promote a healthier community. In May 2008, The Stonehenge Company worked with the Creekside Conference and Event Center and its staff to host the organization?s inaugural fundraising gala. One hundred and sixty-five guests attended the event, which raised more than $58,000 to benefit parks and recreation services and facilities throughout the city.
