Utah Road Trip for the Family

The red-rock canyons, pine-covered peaks and cultural diversity make Utah one of the most inviting destinations for a summer road trip. Utah is where you will find a mesmerizing beauty that consists of a dramatic co-existence of the forces of nature and a colorful land of discovery marked by people of different heritages that settled in the state.

There are many things to see and do in Utah that make it perfect for a family road trip. Start your journey in Park City for the all the great activities that will surely give you lots of bonding moments with your spouse and kids. The Park City Mountain Resort not only gives you comfortable lodging, it also offers all the fun and exciting things you can do for a summer vacation. It is more than just a resort. It is a community. You can go mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding along the hundreds of miles of trails you can conquer with your family, all with the amazing view of the Wasatch Mountains. You can also grab the chance to go stream fishing with the Jans Mountain Outfitters or play golf at Jeremy Golf and Country Club. Park City houses the Utah Olympic Park which served as a venue for a number of events during the 2002 Winter Olympics. Just approximately thirty one miles from Park City is Utah's capital, Salt Lake City. One of the most popular attractions in the the city is the Great Salt Lake State Park. The park consists of the world's second saltiest lake, a museum, a visitor's center and a video presentation of the lake and its history. A portion of the park consists of different shops, food outlets and a venue for concerts. Once appointed the Mormon's church president and governor of the Utah territory, Brigham Young served as a great influence to the residents of the state. His home, the Beehive House, is frequented by visitors and is open for free day tours that take you around the mansion. It is more than just a resort. It is a community. If you are taking the summer road trip with little kids, a visit at the Children's Museum of Utah is a must. The family will surely love everything they will see in the museum, like The Little Star Theater which is a playroom for dress-up role playing.

Drive twenty two miles to Fruit Heights to continue your summer road trip. The Cherry Hill Resort and Fun Park offers nothing but the best time for a family vacation. The resort has a water park, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, water slides, a twenty-food waterfall and an enormous pirate ship. You can also find vast campgrounds surrounded by hundreds of trees, batting cages, game rooms and a golf course, making it the perfect last leg for your Utah summer road trip.
