What Does Tap Water Contain? - Astounding Revelations

I have a confession to make. When I first began my search for the best in home water purification system, it was only because I wanted to have a convenient source of GREAT-TASTING water. It never occurred to me seriously wonder, "what does tap water contain?" All I knew was that it contained an unpleasant taste that I wanted to get rid of. Little did I know that my research would lead to some astounding revelations about what millions of people are, unknowingly, drinking every day.

So just what does tap water contain? If its being provided by a city water treatment system, then it is likely to have traces of a vast array of synthetic chemicals. These substances, over 2100 so far, are the by-products of our modern, industrialized society and have been detected in every public water supply around the world.

You've probably heard the saying, "betting living through chemistry." Well, this better living has come at an expensive price - contaminated water that is being linked to an increase in degenerative diseases, like cancer.

Pesticides and herbicides become agricultural run-off that makes its way into the water. The same is true for lawn chemicals and household cleaning supplies.

Recently scientists have begun finding traces of pharmaceutical drugs. Antibiotics, contraceptives, antidepressants and other prescription drugs are now being detected in water supplies.

With only one available source of water on the planet that must be used and reused, it only stands to reason that everything that humans use or that pass through our bodies, will eventually wind up in our oceans, streams, rivers and aquifers.

Despite the fact that many city officials are being forced to answer the question, "what does tap water contain?" they have been slow to re-engineer outdated water treatment systems. Chlorination continues to be the main method employed by the majority of cities, even though its over 100 years old and has outlived its effectiveness.

In order to be purified, water that contains chemical contamination requires filtration technology. Chlorination is a disinfection method. It may kill water-borne diseases, but is quite incapable of removing synthetic organic chemicals. And considering that chlorine is also a chemical, it too, comes with its own set of problems.

So what does this mean for you? Well, if you want to get clean, safe water for drinking, cooking and bathing, then your best bet is to make it yourself. There are convenient and affordable point of use filtration systems that have been designed with the most up-to-date purification technology. Through my extensive research, I have found that a system called multi-stage filtration fits this description.

In home water filtration that uses multi-stage filtration can clean a comprehensive list of chemical contaminants, as well as, disease-causing bacteria and cysts.

Next, it removes sediments that cause foul odors and tastes and murky appearance.

Finally, this cutting-edge filtration technology leaves important mineral content untouched. The result is a clean, safe and healthy source of water for your household use.

Make no mistake. Until city water treatment systems are brought out of the dark ages, the responsibility of acquiring clean water is going to rest on you and me. Fortunately, there are effective, affordable and convenient multi-stage water purifiers available so that you never, again, have to ask the question, "what does tap water contain?".
