Why Everyone Should Be Buying Personalised Gifts in 2011
Take the scenario of the new born baby and how to welcome them to the world. Just last year, about ten of my friends gave birth and whilst baby booties and little hats would have once been my initial preference of gifts, this time I had something that I knew would melt the hearts of their parents and something the child could grow with year after year - a personalised friends and family tree! A unique photo frame, beautifully hand-drawn and with spaces for pictures of their baby buddies, mummy, daddy, brothers, sisters... perfect.

Not just for new borns, for Christmas, my mother received one from me, with pictures of her Granddaughter at different ages and a meaningful message written from her daughter - yes the aim was to bring tears to her eyes! And to make her realise that I appreciated her being my mother and how my daughter was a reflection of how she had raised me. You can't convey that type of sentiment in a mug!
I am a lover of photos and albums and family trees so to have them all rolled into one and to be uniquely personalised with photographs rather than words, is just my idea of the perfect present -for anyone of any age! This is the age of making do with what we have and using the talents of others... working together and supporting each other in these tough economic times. I find it quite amusing but also rather exhilarating that I look forward to the birth of more babies in my family, my Father's retirement and my brother's return from his travels just so I can give them something personal... that will go through the ages with them and always remind them of past times, fun times, in the guise of a personalised friends and family tree!
