4 Myths About Acne You May Believe In

Posted: Oct 31, 2009 |Comments: 0 |

Acne is one of the conditions a lot of people (and even dermatologist) are talking a lot about. There are non stop new theories, new products that claim to have known the magical cure that will clear us up. And then it fails and leaves us acne sufferers frustrated once more.

You have probably heard a lot of talk and myths about acne. Some of them are true, some are unknown, some are pure BS and that does not make it easy for us.

So here I have brought four of the most common myths about acne and will give you my point of view:

1. Acne is cosmetic condition.

Yes indeed it is.
Actually it is a symptom of something happening in the body. You can't just have acne like that (ok, skin burns may cause something similar to that). Acne does not just happen to appear there. Pimples often form up for a week or two, the process is a lot more complicated that most people think and sometimes it is damn hard to find what actually is causing it.

The worst part is as they say acne is cosmetic condition - it is one of the most frustrating ones. We all know how it ruined days for us affecting our mood.

2. Acne is hygiene related.

Systematic bad hygiene can really clog pores and cause skin problems. However acne have very little to do with this. Hell most acne sufferers clean their face twice a day with special gels, apply protective and moisturising creams so the last thing acne is caused is hygiene.

This is one of the myths about acne caused by common mounts that know absolutely nothing about this condition. Yet they see the oily skin of some guy and suddenly become experts on the topic. Well thanks a lot.

3. Over the counter products is the key.

The key of wasting your money and feeding on our frustration. Acne is cause from the inside of your body. How application of something in your face can alter that? Yes, it can help reduce the symptoms, hide some marks, heal some inflammations faster but is it the ultimate cure? Absolutely not.

4. Acne and diet is non related.

Yea right, one of the myths about acne that is most easy to buy. That is what I thought when I read it and continued eating junk foods like nothing will happen.

Bad foods and habits are connected to acne with a lot of weight! You cannot expect to eat all kinds of random industrially processed foods and expect the toxins and artificial ingredients to magically go away. Your body clears them up, but that is not instant process - this causes certain effects in your organism which leads to... you guessed right. Not all people have acne from bad died, but all people are affected by bad diet!

This are the most common myths about acne that confuse us and only get us more desperate and it is only a fraction of all. Actually when you know how acne is being caused it makes a lot of sense. Come check my story and how I figured a lot about this.
