Acne Scars Treated By Baking Soda And Sandalwood?

Rather than run out to the drug store to buy inexpensive creams and lotions to battle your acne outbreaks and the left over scars, why not look around your own kitchen, the answer may be there, right under your nose. It is necessary to improve the PH balance of your skin in order to keep it glowing, toned and healthy. One way to do that is to treat your acne scars with a paste made from baking soda.  The baking soda paste can be applied while you're taking a shower. It is a great exfoliate and natural PH balancer for the skin.

The paste can be made using a mixture of baking soda and water or vinegar. Be careful, however using the vinegar, as some people may prove allergic. Use this treatment on your skin  for 3 to 4 weeks, for 10-20 minutes at a time, a couple of times a week. You should start seeing some improvements in your skin after the first month. Remember, natural remedies take time to work, so be patient and regular with your treatment applications.

Another method used to heal acne scars in European countries is a mixture of Sandalwood, black gram and rose water. These ingredients are made into a paste, which is applied to the acne scars  and kept on overnight. Wash it off with cold water in the morning and repeat the process the next night. Experts say that you can also choose to wash off the paste with milk. This keeps the facial skin from becoming too dry during the process.

At this point, some use ice to lessen remaining inflammation and swelling. Some people use cucumber juice or pulp to tighten pores. Still others say that this is the perfect time to apply a little tomato paste as an antioxidant to smooth and tone the skin. Leave in place for 10 minutes, then wash off with cool water.  The tomato paste is especially good for removal of blackheads and small whitehead bumps that come an go between the big acne outbreaks.

Remember, skin heals best when it heals from within, so you might want to look into getting the junk food out of your diet and replace it with whole unprocessed foods. You will be glad you did.
