Acne is nothing to mess around with because it can do serious damage to your face. As for what causes it, it can be caused by genetic factors, and environmental factors. The good news is that both can be conquered with the right care. All acne is, is dirt, bacteria, and oil invading the pours and getting trapped there. When all of that dirt, bacteria, and oil gets trapped in the pours, pus-filled cysts form. Acne has also been connected with stress and poor diet.

When these cysts form, they will burst or be burst by the acne sufferer. This can cause scarring and the scarring is permanent. This is not something that goes away, which can be rather embarrassing for individuals. If acne is not treated, infections can result. These infections can cause much worse issues than just scarring. A person can experience a lot of pain and swelling. The face can be difficult to touch. It can even be painful to smile because the cysts become so inflamed and painful.

So if you have the first signs of acne, it is important to treat it as soon as possible. Don't let it turn into something that makes your face hurt and takes your look away from you. Reduce your stress, eat well, and make sure you keep your face clean and you should have no issue winning the fight against acne. There are also some alternative treatments on the market that you can discuss with your dermatologist if over the counter and prescription methods don't seem to want to work.
