Proactive Treatment to Keep Acne Away

The bottom line for acne is to try to keep it away as much as possible because treating acne is much more difficult and problematic than preventing it. There are many changes that you can make in your life style which will ensure that you can stay acne free for the rest of your life. You may find numerous acne treatment reviews that would provide valuable information on the success rate of various acne treatment methods. Below are some simple yet highly effective proactive ways to ensure that you don't have to suffer from acne.

1.     Have a good intake of water: Water is underestimated for its nutritional content in spite of being top on the list of dietitians for a balanced diet. Have at least 10 glasses of water a day. Firstly, it will keep the bowels clear and secondly, it will ensure that all toxic elements are suitably removed from the body. It keeps the skin well-hydrated and all these factors are very essential to keep acne away.

2.     Have a balanced diet: The diet you consume is very essential. You may love to eat junk food but then be ready to see the ramifications in the form of acne all over your face. Fried foods, chocolates, junk foods etc are empty calories and do more harm than good for the skin as they have lots of saturated fat that cause acne. No one is asking you to stay away from them forever, just exercise discipline in what you eat. Ensure that your diet has all the required minerals, vitamins and proteins as a healthy body is not likely to suffer from acne breakouts.

3.     Avoid oil-based make-up: For your skin to be healthy and acne-free, you should let it breathe freely as much as possible. Make-up should preferably not be applied on your face all day long as it invariably leads to the skin not being able to take in oxygen, and in no time it will lead to acne breakouts. However, if you must apply make-up use only water-based products and not oil-based ones. This is especially for people with oily skin. The reason being water-based products do not add to the sebum of the skin and are lighter. Also you must develop a habit of removing all the make-up applied before you retire to bed. Use a water-based cleanser and carefully remove all traces of make-up with damp cotton. Apply a light moisturizer or a night cream before you go to bed.

4.     Constantly change your bed sheets/towels/pillow covers: The bed sheets and pillow covers of your bed must be put to wash after every two days. It does not matter whether they look dirty or not, the fact is that dust tends to accumulate on such places and then gets transferred to your face causing acne. Even the towel you use must be washed after every two days at least to keep it free from germs.
