Acne is usually treated with antibiotics to get rid of resulting scars and cysts as soon as possible. In case of severe acne dermatologist prescribe oral acne drugs especially isotretinoin which unblocks pores and prevents pimples. Following are some widely used remedies for treating acne:

Basil: Dried basil leaves along with boiling water should be applied on affected areas with a cotton ball.

Beans: Face wash made with the help of boiling green beans and dried chamomile flowers should be used at least three times a day in order to fight acne.

Apply the cinnamon powder- lemon juice paste (one teaspoon each to make a paste) on the acne affected area daily to get good results within 3 weeks.

Make fresh garlic juice by crushing and apply this juice on the acne to get everlasting acne solution with no scar of pimples.

Prepare a juice of lime and groundnut oil.

The herbs like Cleavers, Echinacea, Burdock, and Butternut are mixed with 5 ml of tincture and applied three times a day fetches good results for the chronic sufferers of the acne.
Mix the Orange peel with water and pound it to make it as a paste. Apply to acne affected skin. Even sun and air baths to the sufferers of acne are advised as exposing the whole body to the sun and air completely removes the bacteria and oil in the acne.

Severe acne remedies. Put Tea tree oil on the acne affected skin. This is a natural antibiotic. It will destroy a broad range of invading microorganisms, as effectively as benzol peroxide, but without side effects. It reduces redness, itchiness and stinging.

Fasting helps eliminate toxins from the body especially from the liver and kidneys; this method of cleansing reduces the workload of these organs which in turn work more efficiently, cleaner blood means that fewer impurities are excreted though the skin, thus reducing acne. Try the juices below during fasting as a complementary treatment to the home remedies for acne.

Eat well . Despite what you always hear, chocolate, French fries, and other high fat foods don’t cause acne. But research suggests that foods high in iodine such as fish, may contribute to acne outbreaks. The same is true of salty foods such as potato chips. It isn’t necessary; to revamp your entire diet when you’re tying to control acne. But eating less “junk” may make a difference. It’s also important to eat simple, healthy foods, like whole grain breads, fruits, vegetables, and legumes. Foods that are high in fiber can help regulate hormone levels, which will help keep your complexion clear.

Vitamin B5 deficiency is believed to be the root of acne, and supplementation with vitamin B5 can help to alleviate acne. Pantothenic acid is also known as vitamin B5 which reduces oil production and helps rid your skin of acne. When your body lacks coenzyme-A, fats are ejected through your oil glands on your skin in the form of sebum (oil).

Another way to start you acne treatment at home, if you prefer not to see a doctor, is to begin a proper, daily face-washing regime. It is possible to over wash your skin, and this will only serve to aggravate your acne. Twice a day is probably is ideal, although others suggest three times.
