Puberty is a chapter one has numerous adjustments to make. Biological changes are fairly common and a teenager needs to get used to this changes. One of these biological changes is surge of hormones. These hormones brought many physical changes such as enlargements of breast and menarche for females and changes of voice and quality and rapid increase in height for males. But that is not it. One may experience the dreaded teen acne. Based on the American Academy of Dermatology, almost all adolescents have occassional flareups. It strikes all adolescents equally, regardless of sex, race and culture.

Adolescent acne is not only a physical problem. It affects teens psychologically.  It exceedingly impact one's self esteem and boldness. More cruel acne breakouts, the greater the demonstrative toll it takes on the teen. A study done in New Zealand showed the affiliation of severe acne with risk for depression and suicide attempts.

Adolescents with acne tend to have poor body image. They may be reluctant to participate in sports or other activities because of embarrassment about their skin. Parents need to comprehend that even mild acne may have unfathomable impact on the way teens view themselves. As a result, treatment of pubescent acne is very important.

What is Acne and Acne Marks?

Pubescent acne generally begins between ages ten to thirteen. It generally starts on the nose, spreads to the forehead, chin and cheeks. It severe cases, acne affects the neck, shoulders, trunk, back and upper arms.

Acne is a skin condition that causes whiteheads, blackheads, and irritated red lesions as papules, pustules and cysts to form. They are frequently called pimples or zits.  It occurs when pores become clogged by oil, grime and dead skin. When clogged pores are contaminated with P.Acnes, swelling occurs. If untreated, it will result to acne scars.

Most pubescent acne resolve by the time the person is in his or her twenties. In spite of this, it is not extraordinary for it to persist in adulthood.

What are the common causes of pubescent acne and acnes marks?

Adolescent acne is frequently triggered by hormones released at the commencement of puberty. These hormones stimulate the skin's sebaceous, or oil glands, creating an oily skin that is more prone to pore blockages and breakouts. Some studies showed that stress and unhealthy nourishment contributes to precipitate pubescent acne.

How to eradicate Adolescent acne and acne marks

Finding the right management for teen acne can be frustrating. Most spend a lot of money and time trying to eradicate it. More than 40% of pubescent acne requires management by a doctor. Other cases of teen acne can be successfully treated with over-the-counter treatments. If after several weeks of home management there is no advancement, a doctor should be consulted, markedly for boys.

It can be so hard to be patient while waiting for your skin to clear so all teens must be reminded that management takes time. Just about every case of acne can be successfully controlled given time and the accurate treatments.

There are helpful management options to avail. First look for an acne treatment disinfectant. The trademark is not too important providing it contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Both are proven to fight acne by keeping the pores clear before breakouts start.  As long as your cleanser is not making your skin dry, you may add medicated pads and cream to the skin customary. Again with the products containing benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid.  If acne spreads to the body, one may use body wash. Wash the skin as soon as possible after exercise or sweating.

If acne is more persistent or has inflamed nodules or distressing cyst, one should get a medication treatment from a dermatologist.  Some of the topical prescription medications that are often prescribed to deal with teen acne are retinoids (Retin-A, Retin-A Micro, Differen, Tazorac), topical antibiotics, and combination treatments like BenzaClin, Benzamyci or Ziana. Now and again, systemic medications are needed to eradicate acne effectively. Habitually used with topical treatments.  These include Accutane (isotretenoin) or oral antibiotics. Parents and doctors will decide if these management is required in ones case, because like any other medications, they do have side effects.

It may take a few tries to find the right management that is definitive for ones skin. One should not be discouraged as each medicine will bring one closer to a clear skin. Also, one must not be disappointed if new breakouts will appear while on management. Irritation wont instantaneously stop. Over time the breakouts will develop into smaller, less red and heal more quickly. Be enduring. No matter what product or medication you use, it takes time to work. One won't get skin clear overnight.
