Can Electronic Cigarettes help you quit smoking?

I know how hard it is to quit smoking. I have tried chewing tobacco (yuck), patches, lozenges, chewing gum but still continued to smoke. Mostly because of the oral fixation, experience blowing smoke and looking cool. Everyone knows that smoking is not cool. I did not get satisfaction with any of these methods. I missed the social and personal experience of lighting the cigarette, blowing rings and carrying it in my hands.

Recently I went to a dinner party and discovered the Electronic Cigarette. Being skeptical I did not want to spend the money in something I won't use, so I picked up one of the cheap electronic cigarettes at a smoke shop, paid $19.95 for it. I tried it and I was surprised. I decided to try it for real and purchased the Stag brand Electronic cigarette called Stag signature. It is much better looking and higher end model than some of the others I have seen. I bought the white model – they also have black. It looks like a designer pen, worked great. I particularly like the three part design, making the atomizer large enough to create better vapor. I liked the fact that these guys gave me 10 cartridges with the stag signature starter kit – unlike 5 from most others. The box is very nice – almost looks like I bought a Rolex watch!

Now my challenge was to use the electronic cigarette to quit not only smoking but my Nicotine addiction. I looked at the available flavors and Nicotine strengths they offered in their refill cartridges. I figured if I plan right, I can continue to use the Electronic Cigarette but keep reducing the Nicotine strength over a month or two. It would be a gradual decrease and I won't have to suffer withdrawals. Folks, I am not there yet, but I have successfully moved from HIGH Nicotine to Medium and now to Low in 3 weeks! If I keep this up, next month I will be smoking the Stag ecig with NO Nicotine. Which would make me Smoke AND Nicotine free!

Keep your fingers crossed for me. I figured if Kathrine Heigl can do it, I can too!
