Street hypnosis the new art of hypnotizing people stone cold, out on the street, at a party, in the office, anywhere you find yourself wanting to show off your new skills and amaze people with the stunning power of the mind.

You may think it's impossible to hypnotize people with no script, no relaxation, no preparation, and no planning, but you'll be delighted to learn just how wrong you are! Learn street hypnosis, and you will literally be able to walk up to a complete stranger, say a few words, and send them deep into hypnotic trance!

Street hypnosis has a few key phases. Obviously when you get good at this you'll be able to bend the rule, but since you're just starting out, here's a simple formula that will help make things easy for you.

Firstly, begin with the pretalk. This helps to get your subjects ready for the hypnosis. You don't need to go on and on like in a hypnotherapy context, keep things short and snappy.

The intention of this phase is to get your subjects ready to experience hypnosis, excited about the idea, and willing to follow your suggestions and do what you say.

After this you can either go straight for an induction, or do a suggestiblity effect.

These effects, like the magnetic hands, the stiff arm, the eye lock are also known as 'set pieces' and give you a good opportunity to use waking hypnosis, and have people responding to you hypnotically before you even begin!

Because you want to get things done fast and amaze the people watching, street hypnotists always use instant inductions, and I suggest you do that same.

To hypnotize people with an instant induction is actually remarkably simple. You just need to create a minor shock to the nervous system, and follow this up by your suggestion to 'sleep.'

Pattern interrupts like the handshake induction, or slight jolts like a soft arm pull are great for this. Take your subject by the hand, and then just give a slight pull of their arm.

This should be enough to give them a very slight fright, but gentle enough so it does not hurt at all.

After this, simply issue your suggestion to 'sleep.' This should be firm, and confident (but no need to shout!), and done within a second of your pull or shock.

Immediatly after this, follow up with a deepening. The key is to keep talking. Keep a hypnotic pattern going, and run several hypnotic themes, and within 30 - 40 seconds they should be ready for the suggestion phase.

Here you simply demonstrate some simple, powerful and impressive hypnotic phenomena. Glue them to the floor, glue their eyes shut, turn yourself invisible (this one's great fun!), make them forget their name or a number (and get them to count their fingers), the possiblities are endless.

Begin by making the suggestion in the positive eg "Your hand will be stuck to the table." Then give a reference experience and use powerful imagery, eg "as if it was glued there by powerful super glue." Follow this up by the same suggestion framed in the negative "So you will not be able to remove your hand."

Then ask them to test, and don't be surprised to find that it worked!

You want to make sure your subject always feel great! They are trusting you with their mind, make sure you reward this trust. Tell them that what they are experiencing is proof that their mind is incredibly powerful, and that they really can accomplish anything they set their mind to.

Coming from you, the hypnotist, this will really mean a lot.

The final phase of the street hypnosis process is the awakening. A Few setences like "When I count from 1 to 5 you'l return to the room, feeling fully awake, 100% alert and completely back to normal, feeling refreshed, alert and on top of the world! 1...2...3...4....5!"

Remember to do this with feeling and to make sure you remove all suggestions fully and completely. If you made them forget something, have them remember it again! If you made them stick to somthing, unstick them! Bring them fully back to normal before continueing.

Remember your subject is still ighly suggestible the first minute or so after they return from trance - so everything you say will still effectively hypnotize them! This means that you need to be positive about the experience, and let them know they did great!
