One of the most alarming effects of ADHD drugs on children is the fact that they may well start them down the awful road of drug dependency. Children who have used Ritalin (one of the most widely prescribed ADHD drugs) may be predisposed to using street drugs such as cocaine, crack cocaine, meth and amphetamines in general. Many parents of ADHD now refuse point blank to give their children these psychostimulants for many of the above reasons.
