All in white

My bestfriend, Beth, got married earlier this morning and it was a sight for sore eyes! Finally after four years with John I couldn’t ask for anything more for her except more happiness to come. I can’t help but reminisce those times when we were still in high school dreaming of Mr. Right; College when our hearts were broken by our so-called Mr. Right; and after graduation when we both didn’t care who’s Mr. Right—well she found hers while realized I’m not just into having my Mr. Right pronto. She was beautiful in white! It was eight in the morning when the music started to rise. It was time and John with his dad and best man-slash-brother were dashing in their 3 piece suits (I helped with this one—so I had the fashion eye after all)—waiting by the altar. Beth entered the room all glowing in white—the blushing bride. She was in tears. Her dad was in tears. Her mom was chocking up in tears. I—well—yeah…you guessed it right….. She was still in white…! The ceremony went great. There were more tears—then there were laughs—now there are tears from laughing. Eric, John’s brother, just gave his best man’s speech about how his brother would now change from being vain. He was actually retelling how John (while we were scouting for their 3 piece suits) was trying out his vest to check if it looked great or not that he had to change, turn round, change and ask like many times. But as the day progresses, with everybody else having fun, I felt the ambivalence with Beth married and me knowing things are not the same…. As the time came for them to go, she came out of the room wearing that white cotton dress I gave her for this day only—she was radiant and was ready to go for their honeymoon. It was then that I realize how much I’m going to miss her. I know she’ll still be there but it’s not like what we were used to. But she’s still be Beth I and I’m still me and that one day (this day) we’ll part ways. I was also in white…. As her maid of honor—and with the fact that everybody knows I am single—I have to take part of the Bouquet  throwing but with me catching it… and –I don’t know whether I was going to be surprised—the bouquet fell into my hands without me even raising them (GREAT! Just what I wanted—my inner thoughts grumbled). After that Beth and I hugged ever so tightly. This was one friendship indeed made to last a lifetime. And as I see her and John drove away, there was this one thing that added up to my head besides missing her: hoping that me wearing that white dress was not coming any sooner than soon…..About the Author: (name) has gained total recognition even before graduating. During her college years she has co-organized interschool math and science quiz which was actually shown in their campus television network. She was also a part of their school paper and has held an editorial position. One of her works published in the school paper was actually nominated for the Caceres Mass Media Awards. Presently she’s an online content copywriter and is also a volunteer worker in a temporary shelter for the abandoned youth.

She was all in white….
