As consumers around the world sought to avoid sugar and start consuming sugar free, diet type foods, a replacement for sugar quickly surfaced. This replacement, called Aspartame, is used in just about every sugar free product on the shelves today. It can be found in chewing gum, diet soda, and the list goes on. All told over 6000 products worldwide may use Aspartame as a sweetener.
Unfortunately, Aspartame has been linked to over 91 possible side effects and receives thousands of complaints on an annual basis.
