I have been in the business for over 24 years now and over the years i have gained alot of knowlage. We also franchise our business so i have alot of knowlage to share on this subject.

Franchisors who are looking for people to join the franchise and help expand their business will not exclude potential franchisees just because they are young; much more important is their enthusiasm, willingness to learn and aptitude to develop as a business owner.

Tom Endean, marketing manager at the British Franchise Association (bfa), said: "Younger people may not have as many years of experience behind them, but the experience they do have may well be enough to prove themselves as professional business people and ideal franchisee candidates."

Many have already done so. At the age of 27, Lisa Tobias is Domino's Pizza's most successful female UK franchisee, having gone from being a gymnast and part time worker in a Domino's store, to owning four stores in Scotland with a combined turnover of over £2 million and a staff of 120. Last year her efforts were rewarded when she won the bronze award in the 2008 bfa Franchisee of the Year Awards.

She said: "I worked my way up through the ranks at Domino's and became a store manager at 19. A couple of years later I won Domino's Manager of the Year Award for the UK and Ireland, and at this point I decided that I wanted to keep on pushing myself and own my own store. I bought my first store when I was 23 and have opened one every year since."  (Article initially published in the Daily Express)

In the last 20 years DOR-2-DOR have continued to deliver leaflets for many Pizza companies including Domino's, perfect pizza, pizza go go and many more.

Imagine opening 20 new business locations without having to foot the bill for real estate, equipment and development costs or taking on any of the risk. Even more, imagine finding managers to run all those locations, who are just as committed to growing the company as you, and you don’t have to pay them a dime. Finally, imagine that these managers will hire, fire and manage all employees as well as foot the bill for all operating costs and expenses. Sound far-fetched?

Buying a franchise represents a different approach to starting a business. Some statistics are impressive: it is said over 40% of all U.S. retail sales are through franchised establishments. But an alarming number of franchised operators make less than the minimum wage, working 7 days and 60 to 80 hours a week, pursuing an expensive and elusive American Dream that turns into a nightmare of epic proportions. These cases of franchise failure can and should be prevented.

What's the difference between franchising vs. licensing a business? The starting point in the franchising vs. licensing a business analysis is to consider the legal aspects, then the business aspects. In considering the legal aspects, begin with the following premise that applies to both options. If you put someone into business (or allow them to use your business name/mark) this transaction will normally be a regulated activity, subject to substantial penalties for noncompliance.

Evaluating franchise attorneys and evaluating franchise consultants can seem a daunting task. But the firm a company selects to assist its entry into franchising, refine existing franchise efforts or make franchise opportunity investment decisions will have profound consequences. While asking for a list of references is one approach (and when is anyone ever dumb enough to provide a bad reference?) there are more objective criteria that are not dependent on selectively disseminated information.

Many businesses advertise with flyers and getting them into the hands of the general public is of great importance. If the delivery people make a stuff-up in any way, it reflects badly on the company. The company will be blamed if those flyers are left to blow around the streets.

Advertising today is like the weather. Everyone talks about advertising, but few entrepreneurs do enough about it to change or improve it. When you ask what the "big deal" is with advertising, that's an excellent question, because no matter how you want to view it there is one proven fact which is true of business owners and entrepreneurs worldwide... In today's recessionary spiral, every good entrepreneur wants to do more with less.

The government could in one fail swoop achieve its reduction targets for the next few years if it told the Royal Mail to stop delivering leaflets and concentrate on addressed mail only. The cost of a First Class stamp would probably have to go up to £1.50 but Householders would see an instant and dramatic fall in the amount of paper through their letterboxes, some of the material would be diverted to independent companies but a fair chunk of Royal Mails' volumes would divert to TV, Radio, Magazi
