Unfortunately, no matter how talented your logo designer is, he or she probably can't read minds. So, as the customer, you need to provide your designer with relevant information about your company, products and preferences. By providing the designer with this information you will ensure a smooth logo design process. You may have to do a little research on your own, but it will prove worth it in the end. First, inform your designer about the nature of your company or corporation.
Including, when your company started and the nature of the industry in which it operates. Also it is important for the designer to know what your company stands for or represents. This will enable the designer to formulate a unique logo for your company. Second, before the designer can create the perfect logo, he or she needs to know what products or services your company offers. The designer also needs to know the nature of the products and services and to who they are targeted too. Third and finally preferences.
What do you prefer to see or not to see in your logo? Have you previously done a logo before that you liked but just wanted updated? Also where would you prefer to have your logo appear? Do you only want it on business cards and stationery? Or do you want to use it to advertise in the Yellow Pages or on the side of the bus? Knowing what medium you want to place your logo on will greatly impact the design. However, if your designer is truly talented he or she will construct your logo in such a way to where it can be easily placed on any medium.
By providing your designer will relevant information you will be sure to get a logo you will be happy with and one that will remain viable as the company grows.
