How to Reach Baby Boomers with Alternative Advertising Techniques

They grew up in a time of significant social and cultural change. They are often considered to be the wealthiest generation, beginning their lives during the post-war economic boom of the late 1940s and 50s. They are the Baby Boomers. So how can business owners encourage them to spend their wealth? Alternative advertising techniques work extremely well with this generation.

Baby Boomers are often said to have an affinity for the unconventional. After all, this was the generation which thrived during the cultural revolution of the 1960s. Perhaps it is for this reason that Baby Boomers respond particularly well to alternative advertising methods. Regardless of the reason, the following alternative advertising techniques are guaranteed to be noticed by Baby Boomers.

Restaurant Advertising -

Baby Boomers enjoy eating out at their favorite restaurants. Advertisers can use restaurant and restroom displays to reach them while captive. These include ATM advertisements, restroom wall signs and on-location building wallscapes.

Golf Course Advertising -

One of the first activities that most people associate with the Baby Boomer generation is golf. Relate to this active group while they are enjoying themselves and socializing. Golf courses offer many forms of unique, alternative advertising opportunities.

Airports -

Baby Boomers travel more than almost any other cultural generation. Advertisers can reach them at the check in, when going through security, while waiting on flights or picking up luggage. Alternative advertising opportunities are abundantly available in and around airports, including in-flight advertising opportunities.

Mobile Displays -

Mobile displays can used to get Baby Boomer's attention while they go about their daily activities. Mobile displays can also be used to target arts festivals, performing arts theaters and anywhere Boomers congregate.

Movie Theaters -

Baby Boomers enjoy getting out and heading to the theater to catch the newest releases but can also be found at theatres showing the classics. Lobby, restroom and cinema screen advertising can easily and effectively reach this group.

Performing Arts Theaters -

Plays, concerts and other cultural events are also big draws for Baby Boomers. Advertisers can reach this audience through restroom, lobby and mobile advertising and also aerial advertising banners, when events are held outside.

Health Clubs -

Baby Boomers are one of the first generations to continuously embrace fitness into their later years. Advertisers can reach them while they work out on cardio machines, change in the dressing rooms or shower in the restrooms. Wallscapes on-location are also excellent opportunities.

Doctors' Offices and Pharmacies -

As much as Baby Boomers embrace their fitness, they take equally good care of their health. From routine, annual checkups to preventative treatments, Baby Boomers visit the doctor's office and pharmacy with frequency. They can be reached by placing relevant messages in specialized doctors' offices.

Instead both the embroidery of the company’s logo on a shirt or the giving of useful branded products is better due to subtlety and longevity. This
