How to Use Marketing Postcards Effectively

Postcard printing is a great undertaking unto itself. That is why it is important to effectively use your color postcards to make every effort you put into designing and making your postcard templates worth it. To do this you need the right strategy for postcard printing and distribution. For all of you out there who want some tips on postcard marketing, here are my four strategies for effective postcard marketing.

1.      Time it right – The major strategy that I employ to make my color postcards effective is to time the mailing or distribution right. I don't just mail them on any mundane date. I usually schedule sending marketing postcards in time for certain holidays or major occasions. Any kind of important date wherein people may expect a postcard or greeting card is best. People are least likely to throw away marketing postcards at these times, and you can even adapt your design for the current holiday theme. This gives you a very good excuse to send people postcards assuring you a better chance of getting your messages across.


2.      Friendly and personal message – Now, when we go to the content of your postcard itself, it is vital for the effectiveness of your color postcards to have a message that sounds friendly and uniquely personal. You can use the person's actual name in your postcard, or you can use a good honorific like Mr. or Mrs. so that people won't be offended by your postcard. Try to keep a light tone and make your readers enjoy reading the postcard. It is important to not sound preachy or commercial, and instead you should aim to appear understanding about your reader's wants and needs. People respond better to postcards like this making your messages quickly understandable and memorable.

3.      Repeat your postcard mailing at least one – Also, never forget to repeat your postcard mailing at least once. Most people have fickle minds and they can in fact forget a mere marketing postcard if they only have seen it once. Repeat mailings avoid this by letting people have another chance to look at the marketing message. After two or three times, most readers should be able now to remember the postcards and may very well try to read your postcard message to see really what it is all about.

4.      Include a call to action – Finally, to make sure that your message got through, it might be a good idea to include a call to action for your postcards. This can be in the form of visiting your store, visiting your website, or actually ordering something from you. This gives you a gage of how your postcards are really affecting people and hence how effective they really are.

So those are my simple but very useful strategies to make my color postcards effective. With just simple adjustments to your campaign strategy you should be able to reach more people and make them understand what exactly your message is on your postcards.
