Marketing is the process where you go about getting others’ attention to your products and effective marketing would means that they ended buying your products after all your effort. It is almost the same skill set whether it is online or offline. Basically here we use the term Internet Marketing.

Now that the easy part is done with, your real marketing effort begins here. The normal off line’s classified advertisements faxes, media awareness and sales executives are repeated here online. In this case you have the ezine advertising avenues, emails, videos (e.g. You Tube, blogs) and affiliates (resellers, sales executives). The fact that internet has no cross borders, age, genders or races barriers make it such an even playing field for anybody, anywhere. There is little market imperfection, if any, the arbitrageurs will be there in no time and things get even out pretty fast.

The mode of marketing depends on your budget and objective. If you are going for the short run, gaining immediate notice and with some money on hand, you can start off with the most popular mode of marketing that is the pay per click. What I meant here is that you pay the search engine for the keywords that you are bidding for. Each time somebody clicks onto those keywords, you pay. Trust me, most people started off with this. In our human nature, the eagerness to perform outstrips our rationale thinking. Unfortunately, despite its popularity, most people get burnt by this method and lost quite a fair bit of money. On the other hand, if you are not in a hurry to market your products, plan for the longer term survival, you can try to do some article writing. Write up on the interesting facts within the industry which your product is in. Try to shorten others’ learning curve through your experience.
