Why Using Custom Greeting Cards Will Never Go Wrong

Here is a typical scenario:
You are just about to go home from work and then you suddenly realize that you forgot that it is your wife or husband's birthday today. It can also be another occasion like an anniversary or maybe it is your kid or other family member's birthday.
How will you manage getting a gift and a color greeting card quickly? Chances are the stationary stores and bookshops may be near closing, and you aren't even sure if they have the right kind of greeting card. The solution to this particular dilemma is simple.
You can use custom greeting cards. While you are still at the office or work site, you can just print greeting cards yourself. You can even make custom greeting cards that have special meaningful pictures and messages that will add that personal touch to your card.

This personal touch is what assures the custom greeting card its success. You will never go wrong with a personal greeting card since your greeting card recipient will immediately connect with your message. You message will not appear as that factory made and mass produced hallmark mumbo-jumbo. It will be as heart warming and thoughtful as a well made personal letter. Of course, it also has the side advantage looking like a professional greeting card.

Now, of course you have to make that custom greeting card first. It is easy to do and you won't need a master's degree in anything to create it. All you need is your computer, some stock images of you and your loved one and maybe a scanner.

Most offices should have a scanner so you should be all set. Just look through your wallet or office desk and pick the picture that you can use for your greeting card. Usually the best ones are images of your loved one and of course yourself as well. Use your scanner to digitize your picture into the computer. Of course if you have some digital pictures of your loved ones already from your digital camera, then you can skip this step and browse through those pictures instead.

Once you have the picture, fire up that imaging software in your computer. You can use something like Adobe Photoshop or Indesign, CorelDraw and QuarkExpress, if you are a bit of a professional. If you are new to all this graphic design, you can use simpler tools like Microsoft's Paint or OpenOffice.org's Draw. Whichever the case is, open your image file via that software. Once it is loaded up, all you need to do is add that special message in front of the open image. Usually, you should see a text "T" icon where you can add some text to your picture. Be sure to layout it right so that it looks nice and "greeting card like". Once you have the picture and the message, you are virtually set. Just set your dimensions so that your image occupies half a letter sized paper on landscape orientation. So it should be around 5.5x8.5 inches.

Once you have set your image dimension, its time to print that custom greeting card. Simply put some special paper (maybe try one of those glossy or thicker papers in the office) on the printer and start printing. Make sure that the printer is set to print that image on the leftmost side of the paper so that you can fold it in greeting card fashion.

Once that thing prints out, fold it up and you're done. This should take you less than an hour and it should be lesser than the time it will take for a futile search for a generic greeting card. Once you give your custom greeting cards to your loved one, it is sure to be appreciated and loved. So go ahead, try it out on the next special occasion!
