A New Way To Stick To Your Two New Year's Resolutions

Posted: Nov 07, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

What are the two most common New Year's resolutions? No prizes for guessing: 1) Lose weight. 2) Handle finances better. "You can never be too thin or too rich" after all, and many of us (myself included) are less than satisfied with how thin and how rich we are.

The New Year's resolution is as good an opportunity as any to grab our waists by the scruff of the neck, and slap our itchy credit card fingers on the wrist.

We all know well enough though, that the good intentions of New Year's resolutions all too often fail to translate into solid action.

There's a website that will help you succeed with both of those resolutions together. It is called City Treats. It's not a calorie counter, or a back balance tracker. It doesn't just give you data to monitor, it will give you real, practical help and opportunities to lose weight and spend less. Before I explain how, a short background of the service it provides: group buying.

A number of new companies are providing an ingenious and useful service, finding and organising discounts on city living activities. The biggest of these companies is Groupon; the discounts tend to be on dining out and health and beauty; the savings are often as much as 90% (no joke) and the system is called group buying power. It's worth it for the retailers if a certain number of people sign up to take advantage of the discount (you have to buy the discount in advance, then take advantage of it at your leisure).

Now, back to City Treats. These new group buying power companies are hitting the UK hard. There are over ten of them already, and more cropping up all the time. City Treats gathers together all of their daily deals, and shows you all the discounts available every day in your city!

If you don't want to keep checking it daily, sign up to the City Treats newsletter and let the city deals come to you.

OK, so how is this going to help you lose weight? Easy. Look at some of the deals recently offered...

  • £29 for 12 'Early Christmas Fat Loss' sessions with Extreme Fitness Boot Camps worth £160! (from KGB deals)
  • £250 instead of £600 for a three day holistic lifestyle retreat including massage, yoga, sauna sessions, life coaching, hiking, delicious vegetarian food and much more at Sanctuary of Light (from Groupon)
  • £25 instead of £120 for five Pilates classes plus access to the stunning roof terrace at Pilates HQ (from Groupon)
  • Ten 90-Minute Anytime Hot Yoga Classes or Unlimited Off-Peak Classes saving 82% (from Living Social)

Saving money, losing weight.

So check out City Treats and see how it can help you keep your £s and lose your lbs today.
