Christmas Wishes

It is now that time of year where we are all looking for that perfect festive outfit to make heads turn and jaws drop, But where to start? With so many fashion choices from the outfit to accessories how do we make our minds up on what or what not to wear? The first thing you need to decide is what look are you aiming for? Whether you need a smart casual look, a formal look or simply a trendy party outfit, each of these are very different and require different accessories and shoes to make the outfit look and feel a million dollars.

Start by seeing what colours match, such as green and brown, or purple and black, this will help you pin point the correct accessories and help you coordinate. Trouser suits for the ladies are becoming a fast favourite for the festive season when teamed up with a metallic top and matching diamante sandals and coordinating clutch bag. Add glitter mascara to the end of your lashes and clear lip-gloss to accentuate your eyes.

The pencil skirt is also becoming a wardrobe must have and a fashion favourite for this season. The pencil skirt is figure hugging and accentuates curves to create a sophisticated and groomed look. Designers such as Miu Mui and Valentino are taking the pencil skirt to the catwalk; these designers are teaming the favourite with neutral colours for day and metallics or leather for night. To have the full effects of this look hair and make-up must be perfect and the skirt is to sit just above the knee. Team this look up with Black patent leather bag and a high-heeled court shoe for maximum effect. Team the pencil skirt up with a waistcoat, shirt and shoe boots for the conservative look or team with a high waisted belt, smock top and chunky heeled sandals for a more party look

The little black dress is also making its way back into the fashion limelight with the versatile look. With so many varieties around it is easy to find a little black dress to suit you. There are straight cut, pleating and pin tucking to name a few, every lady’s wardrobe must have! This season don’t dress you little black dress up with delicate diamantes and satin sandals, try accessorising using chunky neck wear and killer high heels. Why not try and accessories using studs and metallics in accessories? This will lift your outfit and give it a bold and punkish look; try bright purple’s and gold; you may just be surprised how good they go together! If you are not feeling that adventurous, try incorporating studs in your footwear by getting a coordinating pair of high heeled peep toe court shoes with a little stud detailing and matching bag. This will incorporate this season’s look without the overpowering look of metallics if you are looking for a more relaxed and conservative look this season.

Or you could quite simply opt for the simple look and wear a not so flash pair of womens shoes and boots.

However, this is the season where accessories are going to make an outfit; plain looks are intensified by bracelets and shoes using colour and detail. Clear and glitter Perspex heels are seen on the catwalk from designers such as D & G with Prada adopting the banana heel and elastic ankle strap. Diamantes and sequins will always be a popular choice when choosing a festive outfit and with designers such as Alberta Ferretti using diamantes and Karen Millen using Satin, there will always be the style you are looking for both on the catwalk and the high street. Clutch bags and bracelets will incorporate a bold vibe while giving the outfit shimmer and sparkle; you will look and feel fantastic this Christmas and all of the New Year too!
