Organize Your Closet, Easy As 1-2-3

It Doesn't matter how big of a closet you have, either a huge walk-in or a smaller regular closet, everyone wants their closet to be neat and organized. Wouldn't it be nice to find your favorite pair of jeans when you want them without having to rip apart your entire bedroom to find them? Getting your closet to be clean and organized is not as hard as you might think. In fact it can be done in 3 easy steps.

1. Take everything out of your closet and group all the items together. Shirts with shirts, pants with pants, shoes with shoes and so on.

2. Organize all your items. You can arrange your items in a number of different ways. Some suggestions would be to sort them by season, color, fit, or even your favorites. It is also a good idea to separate out your formal wear from the stuff you wear all the time. Arranging shoes by color and heel height tends to work well. While you are at it, take out anything that no longer fits or that you just don't want anymore and set it aside to be donated to a thrift store.

3. Add extra storage. This can be a great way to organize your closet. Add some plastic bins or wire shelving to give yourself more usable room. Bins can be used to store items for seasonal wear or stuff that is difficult to fold. Keep in mind that you can stack bins on top of each other to for a type of shelving unit. The extra storage space created by using bins or a type of shelving will go a long way if you have a smaller closet to organize. It is a good idea to label your bins so you can easily find items you are looking for when the time comes to pull them out again.

Adding hooks to the back of the door or the back wall will also help increase your storage capacity. These hooks are great for purses, scarves, hats and the like.

Putting in the time and effort to organize your closet will be a great benefit when you need to find something to wear. This way you will be able to look at your entire wardrobe which will make getting dressed every day mush faster, saving you time in your busy life. With a little time and effort on your part you can quickly de-clutter your closet and begin to organize your life.
