Much has been written and reported about remote viewing on the internet in the last few years some of it accurate and some of it just plain nonsense. I personally trained a s a remote viewer in the United States back in 1996 and because of that I feel I can add some authenticity to this topic. Firstly most people have by now some knowledge that the CIA developed the use of extra-sensory perception to augment their intelligence collection capabilities during the cold war. The truth is that the programs went back much further than that and possibly started even as early as the 1950s. What is known for sure however is that the remote viewing did in fact yield valuable intelligence material that could be verified later. Much of this research was collated and shown to have significance by Jessica Utts, a professor of statistics.
Now, to cut to the chase, remote viewing does work, I have participated in enough remote viewing sessions over the years to be able to verify this for myself, however, the truth is that the sessions do not always have consistency. It is an up and down experience that can take years before the bumps can be smoothed out. This does not mean that it is not valuable it just means that a person has to be really dedicated and committed for it to succeed. I'm afraid it isn't one of those skills that you can learn in a weekend and then you'll be a remote viewer. It takes time to become a viewer who turns out quality sessions and data that is also consistently reliable.
However, for me, the most important thing I learnt form all the training was that I established for myself the truth of a universal consciousness that the majority of cultures have talked about for millennia. Even Jung talked about a collective unconscious where all information is available to us. This is tremendously liberating to know that there is this kind of interconnectedness between everything. It can provide much spiritual solace to a person to have a direct experience of this for oneself.
Recently it seems that interest in remote viewing has died down somewhat. Possibly some areas have become saturated with too much information and also conflicting information about this controversial subject, however, it is not going to go away overnight and continues to be a totally trainable skill that the majority of people could learn given the time and the commitment. Possibly interest has dropped off because the skill cannot be acquired overnight. It is not a noodle pot method where you just add hot water and instantly you have it. It is more like a pot roast (or a casserole as they say in Europe) and it needs to simmer away for a while but the taste is more profound at the end.
However if people do decide to learn please be wary as there are a lot of poor teaching materials out there these days. Do take some time to make inquiries and be satisfied that you are getting genuine instruction from a reputable source. But who knows you might just be the next convert to this wonderful spiritual development tool.
