Rising Triumphant
Caught in sea of affliction, the tempest storm violently pushed me to shore.
I was battered and worn, my spirit was crippled and sustained by only fragile
slivers of hope. My mind was bound with chains of frustration and doubt.
Worry, fear and various degrees of self-loathing did I eat of and guilt and shame
became my drink. I became weary, for all my efforts seemed futile and useless.
My life was being spent like discarded trash. I was caught in the rat-race of routine,
bound in a strait-jacket, known as normalcy and lost in the trap known as average.
The pieces of a life that could have been, lay like fragment puzzle pieces in my hand.
How I longed to be delivered and to be made whole. Yet no one could save me from
this maddening insanity. No self-help guru, no preacher or priest, no academic scholar
could give me a clue as to what to do. Saving me from myself was not a viable plan, the more
I learned, the less I began to understand. I sank deeper into a trap filled with promises broken
and dreams unfulfilled. I lamented and cried about the things that could have been; as I groaned
and cried out for a solution so that I could somehow win.
My prayers were eventually answered, my spirit was revived, I felt like a struggling caterpillar that was now filled with hope. A cocoon of faith enveloped me, as I grounded myself in the Word of G-d and continued to pray. Then one day I knew the answer and what I was destined to do through the darkness and confusion I once bore I now rose triumphant , as I sprouted wings of love, to guide me along the way. I rejoiced because of this divine breakthrough and now I partake of the Freedom to become all that I was created to be.
