Three Tips for People Who Were Disappointed in the Secret

I’ve watched the movie, The Secret, many times.  I loved the concepts that I learned and thought that they illustrated difficult points very well.

However, I used the techniques in The Secret with a great deal of dedication, and I didn’t see the results that had hoped for.  At first, I doubted that the principles of the Secret would work, or maybe, I thought, they just didn’t work for me.

The Law of Attraction works.  I know that it does.  On occasion, I’ve used it.  But I did not seem able to use it in my life everyday.

After I’d abandoned my efforts to use the Law of Attraction, I came upon a teacher who helped me understand the principles of The Secret at a much deeper level.

When I started to follow his advice, I found that I stopped living in dream land, and started to make real, solid progress in my life using the Law of Attraction.

Here are several things that I learned that started me in the right direction:

Tip #1 for People Disappointed in The Secret:  When Using the Law of Attraction, Pick Things To Manifest that Are Really Important to You – This is key.  The Law of Attraction works on many deep levels and it is inextricable entwined with the principle of following your bliss.

At the most basic level, each of us is designed to use the talents and abilities that we were born with.  If we’re not tapping in to those gifts, then we’re really missing the boat.  We’re literally ignoring our deepest desire.

When we hone in on this, we’re finally working with the Law of Attraction.  Don’t treat the Law of Attraction as a convenience store where you can just pick things at random that you want.  Use it to manifest that which is close to your heart and then, you can’t help but succeed.

Tip #2 for People Disappointed in The Secret:  Make A Plan and Follow It – In doing a great deal of work in the Law of Attraction realm, it is easy to get a bit bandied about by the whims of what you’re feeling.  Working with our feelings and focusing on our desires is great, and it will help us to make progress.

However, it is really easy is to flit from one interest to another.  That’s why making a solid plan and following it is so valuable.  Don’t be rigid, but at the same time, keep yourself on track.  I’d advise you to do something everyday on your plan.  Then, you’ll find yourself moving the right direction.

Tip #3 for People Disappointed in The Secret:  Focus – In this context, focus means to let go of everyday distractions and make manifesting the life you love your priority.  I used to think that I did this well.  But when I actually became committed to living the life of my dreams, I stopped watching television.  I didn’t need as much “veg out” time.  I re-arranged my life to make sure that I took action on my living my dreams project every single day.

I gave up the drama of trying to make progress.  Instead, I simply began to take action.  After several weeks of this, the drama melted away and I found myself a great deal more focused and efficient.  Then, I was open to receiving much more since my focus and intention was really on creating a fabulous life.

These three tips should provide a good place to begin using the Law of Attraction.  But I would advise anyone who really wants to master the use of the Law of Attraction to get expert help throughout the process.  You'll be glad you did.

It's positive intention was to protect us, yet in over use it causes harm. The inner critic protects us by making us aware that what we are doing or feeling is not right. Honor your inner critic.

The Three Emotional Blocks That Arise When One is Finding One’s Inner Genius

By: Dr. Isabella Santorini | 08/06/2008 | Advice
The important thing to remember when we’re stretching our ability to live a joyful life is that emotional upheaval will happen at some time or another. This is a given. Being caught between creating the life of our dreams and the limits of our emotional safety mechanism, doesn’t feel good. This can come in many forms. In my experience, however, the usual blocks to expressing our inner genius are as follows:

How I Deal With Blocks to Living My Life’s Purpose

One of the things that I have found so incomplete in my studies about personal transformation is the lack of addressing obstacles that get in our way as we learn to express our true nature, the genius within. The problem is that when we’re acquiring a new skill, such as using our unique talents and living our life’s purpose, we’re vulnerable, moving in uncharted territory. Having emotional upheaval just makes things worse. Here is what I've found that helps.

Life simply works best when we have our physical environment really work. When we’re organized, we can think more clearly, we’re more efficient, and we can take on projects that have lain dormant for months or even years. Whether your storage room is at home or at work, the following advice applies. The key is always keeping the appropriate things in the storage room instead of allowing this room to be a place where things get put because there’s no other place to put them.

When we’re organized, we can think more clearly, we’re more efficient, and we can take on projects that have lain dormant for months or even years. When my kitchen is clean, the whole house seems easier to keep picked up. But a simple back-up in doing dishes, and the whole kitchen can look like a disaster. But the more cleaned out our kitchens are, the easier it is to clean the entire room in 10 minutes or less.
