Why You're Not Reaching Your Goals

To understand why you're not reaching your goals, take a step back and examine how you see yourself, your career and your world. It's possible that you view yourself as a mere cog in a wheel, or as means to an end.

On the surface, this may not seem like too big a deal, but it really is a negative view. Holding-on to it will inhibit your success and happiness. A positive, can-do attitude is absolutely essential to success, in business and in life. If you go through life feeling that you are incapable of doing the things it takes to be successful, or that you're at the mercy of others, you're going to miss the mark when it comes to attaining the success you desire and deserve.

If, on the other hand, you are able to maintain a positive outlook even in the most trying of circumstances, you're headed in the right direction. Having a positive attitude is an essential first step toward enjoying the success you so desperately crave (and deserve).

Honest self-examination can be uncomfortable for many people at first. But without it, you're running the race with blinders on. That's not to say you should be critical of yourself. Just examine and make note of any beliefs or habits that may be inhibiting you & make a change where needed. Don't beat yourself up, you're allowed to be human after all, and you will make mistakes. The key thing is to learn and move forward in spite of your "human-ness". Success is a long road, and it can take quite some time to get there. It is important to not let yourself be discouraged, and to never give up.

It's a good idea to study the personal stories of some of the world's most successful businesspeople. Yes, some of them were born with "silver spoons" in their mouths, but the majority of them have created their own success through lots of hard work and perseverance (note the word "created").

What sets these successful business owners apart from the crowd is that they do not give up, their success isn't accidental - it's created - by them. When you read their stories, you'll find that many of the ultra-successful and most wealthy business owners went broke or bankrupt along the way, often, multiple times.

Examine their "hard luck" beginnings, and the successes they eventually created, it will become clear to you why most don't reach their goals. This careful examination will also help you understand the steps you must take, and the qualities you must possess, to make yourself one of those future success stories.

Whatever the nature of your business, it's imperative to examine the reasons why most don't reach their goals, and to avoid those mistakes. Emulate the most successful business owners, avoid the negative attitudes of the majority, and you'll put yourself at the front of the pack - on purpose.

How can I get back the social skills I once had?
By: Johan B | 04-08-2008
My name is Johan and I'm 18 years old, graduated from high school this year and I'm having problems lately when I try to engage in conversations with girls and my friends ,which I barely have anymore.I usually don't have anything to say (My mind is always blank and I can't make up words properly in my head) so I'm either very quiet or say stuff without any meaning. It wasn't always like this. Before I graduated and spent the last five months doing nothing else than waking up, having some friends over and lighting up a few joints... I always knew what to say back to people when I talked to them.I think my problem is the lack of mental exercise. Since I go to the gym 2 hours a day, 4 days a week I have a healthy body or else I'd already be overweight (Damn munchies). Maybe taking some yoga, photography and math classes would help me improve my social skills which really suck at the moment and I don't see any point in living anymore... I've basically lost my interest in everything.I need advice on how to get my social skills back and on getting my life back in order.Thanks,Johan.
