Recreational Trampolines – Buying and Caring For Your Equipment

Posted: Nov 10, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

Although it might seem like a big investment just to have something that you can jump on sitting in your backyard, it's important to consider the fact that a trampoline is one of the best pieces of equipment for getting kids interested in exercise, even though they'll just think it's a great source of entertainment! There are probably hundreds of different brands of recreational trampolines on the market today, and it's important to consider cost, size, shape, and trampoline accessories when you're making your final decision. The last thing you want is to buy a trampoline that will need constant repairs or that will compromise your family's safety.

When buying a trampoline, it's important to consider how much space you have to setting it up and using it. If you're looking for something that you can use for a little bit of cardiovascular exercise in the comfort of your own home, you're probably going to want to stick with the single jumper mini trampolines, also known as rebounders. These can be lifted and moved to whatever location you want, and offer the same health benefits and rebounding motion as a much larger trampoline. If your kids are very young, and you don't want to take the risk of them falling off of a larger trampoline, this is probably a good piece of learning equipment.

If you're looking for something that will be quite a bit larger, and have the space to store it outside, you're probably going to want to consider the recreational trampolines can be round, square, or octagonal, and are usually ten feet or larger in width. These trampolines typically stand about three feet off the ground when they're fully assembled, which means that they must be fitting with a trampoline enclosure in order to be used safely.

Caring for your trampoline doesn't have to be difficult as long as you're willing to engage in some simple maintenance on a regular basis. First of all, you should purchase a trampoline cover so that rain, dirt, and sunlight can't affect the buoyancy of your springs and the strength of the trampoline mat. You'll also want to make sure to install a trampoline pad that will create a cushioned covering over the railing and springs so that appendages can't slip between them and be pinched or bruised. Another option is a lower trampoline net so that people can't crawl under the mat while others are jumping.

You can try to find used trampolines that are certain to need repairs, or you can opt for a discount trampoline that will likely have poor quality parts and won't include any trampoline accessories for safety, but they're all going to be a disappointment when you compare then to the Skywalker brand you could have purchased.
