When you start out in affiliate marketing it is easy to spend too much money. Cash flow affiliate marketing is all about how you control your spending. The problem is that no sooner do you buy an e-book about affiliate marketing, than you are bombarded with emails telling you that you just must have all these e-books.

Many people are so busy filling their hard drive with e-books that they don't read half of them. Nor do they actually do what the e-books say. If they do, they tend to do it for a while, get no success, and move on to the next hot topic. This is a recipe for disaster as an affiliate, or in any business.

Did you hear of any business that switched from one product to another every month? Imagine it if your local Buick dealer became a Nissan dealer for one month only to move onto Ford the next month and Honda the month after that. Of course, they would never be accepted after the first switch anyway. EDven so, remember that the rules governing business offline are relevant online too.

Take your business in steps

So how do we make cash flow affiliate marketing work? Well, to start with, you buy one e-book, and make it work. You will have a better chance if this e-book has some tools included – like squeeze pages to get people to sign up for your list, and products to sell.

The next step is not to advertise, but to rely on free traffic to start with, even though this takes time to build up. There are two well-established ways of doing this:

1.Write articles about your topic and become seen as an expert;
2.Website affiliate marketing, where you build a small website for each product.

You need to write quite a few articles to get traffic to your site. Some experts say that you need to write three articles on each topic, others say more. Review articles are particularly useful. Then you distribute the articles to article websites, and they get taken up by webmasters for their sites.

The one problem with these sites is that generally you can have only one link, and some insist that it is to the home page. it is best to use an article site that allows you to link to any page in your site. This way, the link goes straight to the product you want to sell.

Building websites is also a good way of getting traffic at low cost. Of course you have to write some articles for the site, and you need to pay for website hosting.

Don't advertise straight away

What about advertising? With cash flow affiliate marketing the idea is to generate income before you advertise on Adwords. Then, when you do advertise, keep your spending within a strict budget and set daily and monthly limits on spending, as well as limiting the amount you will pay for each click.

If you follow these principles of cash flow affiliate marketing you will make money slowly but progressively. Not gambling, but building a business.
