Have you ever searched the web for money making opportunities? If you are reading this article you probably have. And what is the first thing everyone says you can make money with? Affiliate programs! All the online marketing gurus, all the money making eBook authors etc tell you to do the same thing. Register a few domain names, choose a few products to promote, create a few review websites about these products and start sending traffic to these websites.
Sounds easy? Yeah right. First of all you need to spend money for the domain names and maybe for the websites if you know nothing about web designing. Choosing products is easy and free. Register a Clickbank or a Comission Junction account and you are done. Now that you are done creating your business you need some traffic. You need to find traffic fast because that\'s what the author of the book you bought told you. He told you that you will make millions in a few days so you take out your credit card and register a Google Adwords Account. Google Adwords can bring you tons of traffic and money if you know how to use it. Let\'s say that you are lucky and you start making money. In the end of the month you\'ve spent 200 and you\'ve made 800 which means 600 profit. But have you ever thought whose business you are building?
You are making money and you think that you are building your business. Wrong you are building the merchant\'s business who is enjoying free traffic from your hard earned money and he is building a huge mailing list of visitors you send him. Let\'s say that I\'m a merchant and I have 10 affiliates like you promoting my product. I sell a product for $50 and I give you a P comission for every sale. My affiliates send me 10000 per day and 100 of these visitors become buyers. My affiliates make $250 per day each and I make $2500. In the end of this month my affiliates will have make $7500 and I will have make $7500. But also I will have 10000 more subscribers in my mailing list and plus $50000 or more from people who visited my site, remembered the name of my product, serched for it and bought it a few days later directly from my website and not from the afiliate link they previously used to visit my site.
So what do you think is the best? Spend your money to build someone elses business or spend them for your own business? I\'ve used affiliate programs and I can say they are good for a nice monthly income but if you want to become rich and make the millions they promiss you you have to become a merchant.
Try your luck with affiliate programs but only as a begining of your carreer. The next step, the milion dollar step, is in your own business.
