Maintaining Down Line Builders for Affiliate ProgramsFilling in affiliate down line builders online can be quite a pain. Especially since there are so many programs and traffic exchanges to keep up with, it becomes a chore to figure out how and where to start, not to mention the agony of hours of searching sites to find your referral ids. The fact of the matter is we need a systemized approach that will allow us to do the work once and then be able to simply duplicate it at will. So let's look at what we can do to simplify the process and make it as painless as possible. If you are starting from scratch, start by finding a down line builder that can accommodate most of the traffic exchanges and programs you will be working with. There are several out there, but for the moment, I will demonstrate two I am most familiar with: The 10khits4unow traffic exchange downline builder and the MoneyLegs "FOLLOW ME" link directory. Open up your down line builder in your FireFox browser (other tabbed browsers will work as well but I recommend using FireFox to keep the process simple). Once you have located and opened your down line builder, you will need to notice the structure of the way in which the links are inserted into the program. Some down line builders allow you to enter just the account number of your id while others require the full id. Make a note of which you are required to do before you start. In our demonstration, the 10khits4unow builder links to a separate page where you can insert the id while MoneyLegs has a box right on the page where you insert the id and save it. Next, you will need to login to your email account where you will be sending info to when you sign up with each program. Having the email program open at the start simplifies the sign up process and allows you to quickly process confirmations from each program. Now let's start with the first program from your down line builder. Click on the join button and follow the prompts to complete your sign up. You will likely get a confirmation letter in your email box which will contain the link you need to click on or put in your browser to complete your sign up. When you have completed your sign up, your login info will be emailed to you. Use it to login and get to your members' area. What we are looking for now is the promotion page we will use to sign up others to the program. It may be listed under "referrals" or "promote" or a similar listing; in any case locate the page and find your referral url. Open up the url in your browser and note your account id in the link. Highlight this with your mouse and hit 'control + c' on your keyboard to copy it. Go to "bookmarks" on your browser menu and create a folder called "Referral IDs". You may want to create additional folders within this one such as "Traffic Exchanges" and "Programs" and an additional level within these folders (A-L, M-Z) since you will be inserting tons of bookmarks here from all the programs you will be joining one day. This is a matter of personal preference and it does take a little time to set up, but it's worth it. When you have created the folder, bookmark the url making sure you have the name of the program noted on the bookmark and place it in the folder. Now, when you need to get the url for another down line builder, it will be at your fingertips! You should now go back to your down line builder and paste the id in the space provided using 'control +v' on your keyboard and click save. You have now created your first down line builder entry. Since I am using another downline builder that contains the same link, I can simply use the paste function to include it there as well. This works well where you have multiple sites to fill at the same time and it helps to do them all at once to save time. Now that you know what is involved in updating your down line builders, you will want to get in the habit of immediately bookmarking referral ids whenever you join a new program so that it becomes a cinch to add it. When you have completed totally entering your ids, you will want to print them out if the down line builder has a display of all of them for your records as a back up for the info on your computer. As a personal recommendation, I would highly recommend Chris Wysocki's DiveForIncome downline builder as a tool for storing all of your traffic exchange referral ids. It is a great resource and will save you tons of time hunting down referral ids for these programs. Affiliate down line builder's can be a super tool for bringing members into your down lines but the key is they need to be filled in with your ids! Whenever you join a program that has one, take the time to fill it out so it can work for you. They are a super traffic tool and can get you referrals for both your traffic and income affiliate programs.
