It is very easy to set up an online business using affiliate products because the merchant takes care of all the details. The affiliate develops the product, takes care of all sales (through their sales page), manages all customer payments, delivers the product, and deals with customers. You do not need to worry about setting up a shopping cart or creating a merchant account. For these reasons, affiliate product provide an ideal vehicle to start your new online business.
One of the largest and most successful affiliate marketers is ClickBank. They offer over 10,000 products so you are almost certain to find several products that are related to your niche. In addition, ClickBank will keep track of your sales and send you a check every two weeks. They are a very good organization to do business with.
Of course, there is work involved on your part. Your job is to refer people to the merchant’s sales page. Each time one of the people that you refer makes a purchase; you make a commission on that sale. Commissions vary according to the merchant and range between 30% and 75% of the total price.
There are many techniques to refer people to the merchant’s sales page. You should use a number of these different methods to do this. Some of the most common marketing methods include: pay-per-click advertising, ads (on your own site), article submissions, social networking sites, classified ads, and paid solo ads. Of course there are many other marketing methods available, these are just a few of the main ones.
