Usually, it cost nothing to submit your site to a web directory. However, some directories do require a reciprocal link. For immensely popular directories, you may be required to pay a small listing fee. The fee is usually one time, and the listing is permanent.

Once you locate a high quality web directory, all you have to do is to browse to the relevant category for the site. If you are unsure which is the right category, you can always make a search for similar sites and identify the right category from there. Click on the category that you wish to submit your website to, and look out for a link that says "Suggest URL", or "Submit Link". You will then be brought to a form where you can fill in the site title, the URL, the keywords, and enter a short description.

Once your link is submitted, you may have to be patient and wait for a few weeks. That's because there are thousands of links to approve and this takes time.
