Step by Step Affiliate Marketing – Your Roadmap for Success!

I have an admission to make. Providing a step by step guide for affiliate marketing is a little like explaining how to drive from downtown Toronto, Canada to the capitol building in Buenos Aires, Argentina.   OK, that's probably an exaggeration, but hopefully you get the point, namely, to really do this justice, a step by step affiliate marketing roadmap is going to be a long roadmap. Perserverence on yout part will be needed to get from where you are today to where you want to go in the future. Follow the steps outlined below and you'll make it!

We  often hear how simple and straight forward step by step affiliate marketing is. And that's true if you want the view from 40,000 feet.  You connect a buyer with a seller using content you put online using carefully chosen keywords. Your article has a link or two that takes the interested customer to the product you're representing….and bingo you're making money.  Sounds easy enough.  However, if that were so, why do well under 10% of all affiliate marketers ever make a dime? 

Look, here's the truth: 

There's a big difference between wanting to be an affiliate marketer and actually knowing how to successfully do it. Granted, that was a general statement….but to be successful at affiliate marketing takes consistent effort, over a period of time and it all needs to be coupled with quality training.  We've been talking at about the 5,000 foot level. Let's take it down to the 5 foot level so you can really begin to see the pebbles, boulders and ravines that you're going to need to navigate around and over to succeed at this.  

What do I mean by a consistent effort? Here is what consistent looks like: sixty minutes a day, five to six days a week for a year. That's what it looks like. Sounds easy enough and for the dedicated, even those already busy with life, it is possible. I'm living proof!  Granted there are Sunday afternoons I may spend 2-3 hours working on my online efforts. But mostly it's an hour here and an hour there.  More than the time spent each day, it's the day in and day out effort that will separate the" haves" from the "have nots".

Here's what I mean by quality training. If you're serious about this, you must find a comprehensive "make money online" training program.  By comprehensive I do not mean a book or a collection of DVDs. This has to be real time with a community you can go to and ask question of.  It also must allow you to not only learn step by step affiliate marketing but also include all the skills that tie into and support affiliate marketing.  Skills like keyword research, niche marketing, SEO research and web site building to name just a few. These are critical to your success step by step affiliate marketing success.  And honestly, web site building can be one of the biggest boulders to get over….unless you combine your drive with great training.
