Successful Affiliate Marketing: Writing the Backwards Sales Letter

Rising to the top of your game means that you have to think outside of the proverbial box from time to time. Instead of writing a sales letter to promote your product, why not write a backwards sales letter? This is a successful affiliate marketing tip that you may not have heard of but is known to produce generous results if executed properly.

What is a backwards sales letter? It simply means writing a sales letter that promotes the bonuses that you’re offering to anyone who makes a purchase. Simply put, it makes the bonuses so enticing that your prospect feels that he has to have them. The catch is that he has to order your main product in order to receive them.

In order to increase affiliate sales, you’ll have to have a great offer. However, you probably already know that adding bonuses is a great way to sweeten the pot. In order to make money online, you’ll want to specialize not only in great products but also fantastic bonuses. Here is how the backwards sales letter works.

Here are some tips and tricks you can use to increase affiliate sales with the backwards sales letter approach:

Create a great product. Of course, you’ll want to create a product for your target market. Take all the steps that you would normally take during the prelaunch and launch phases of your marketing plan. Make sure that it is viable, create the product, test the product, and recruit your JV partners.

Create some kickin’ bonuses. Here’s where the beauty lies in this system. With this marketing tactic, you want to make your bonuses so enticing that your customers will buy your product just to get at them. You can create three to five new bonuses, or you might use products that have had successful launches in the past. Whatever you choose to use, make sure that these bonuses have so much value in the eyes of the customers that they’ll want to take the next step to get them—buy your product.

Write the sales letter. Here’s where your approach will differ from the traditional way of writing sales letters: you’re going to promote the bonuses and just mention the product in passing. Normally, the bonuses are added to the product. When you write a backwards sales letter, the bonuses become the product—in a sense—and the actual merchandise that you’re selling is the next step the prospect must take in order to receive the fantastic extras.

When it comes to successful affiliate marketing, consider taking a different approach than your competitors. While everyone else is promoting their products, use your bonuses as a ticket to generate more interest in your product. It works. Many marketers have discovered that this technique is not only effective but it also has the potential to double or triple your affiliate sales.
