The product of the internet affiliate program is the most important consideration upon which you should spend some time before joining the program. If possible, it would be best for you to choose a program whose product you know well. If you have personal knowlege of the product, you will be more effective when you begin writing ads in order to market the product. You need to research what the potential customers will like or dislike about the product. You should be familiar how the product competes with other similar products. Look at the performance, value and price compared to other competitive products.
The commission is important to evaluate including how often you will be paid and how much. Somtimes your commission will be based on a percentage of the sale or on the net revenue. Net revenue is the profits of the sale and not the total sale amount.Many times you willl have to pay for a membership for the affiliate program and sometimes they are free.
Next review the payment terms and methods.The time may vary from 30 to 90 days. It may be three months before you see the results of the commission.Many times companies will charge for a check, but you can save that fee by using direct deposit.
Investigate the return policy of the company. If the product is returned. your commission may be negated.. Learn whether the merchant has a free gift policy so that you can include this benifit in your advertising.
If the product is of poor quality, it will have a high rate of return. The merchant may have a poor reputation. If the product is poor and the merchant is not reputable, it is a waste of your time and advertising dollars to continue wiht that merchant.
