Are Your Meridians Balanced Quiz?

Posted: Oct 22, 2009 |Comments: 0 | Views: 102 |

Are you feeling energised, inspired, motivated, creative and hopeful?

If no, then perhaps you are suffering from a meridian chi energy imbalance.

If you've read my article "Meridians – Energy Channels for Health & Vitality", then you know how important meridians are to determining your health.

Unlike Western medicine, TCM looks at specific patterns of Chi imbalance - disharmonies in the energy channels or the meridians. If a Chi imbalance in any of the meridians is left untreated, it will cause an internal imbalance. That's why it's so important to locate and correct these Chi imbalances before they translate into dis-ease.

The following quick quiz gives you the opportunity to determine if your meridians are balanced.

Since each meridian is associated with one of the five Elements (earth, fire, water, metal or wood), then an imbalance in one of the Elements will correspond to a meridian imbalance. Your answers to this short quiz gives you valuable information as to which meridian you need to work on to improve your wellbeing.

Earth – spleen & stomach meridians
* Easily worried and over-concerned
* Upset by change and tendency to become overwhelmed by detail
* Craving for sweet foods
* Appetite imbalance, either large or lack of appetite
* Hiccups, burping, nausea, poor digestion or vomiting

Fire – heart, small intestine, pericardium & triple heater meridians
* Extreme anxiety, emotional unease or lack of joy
* Feeling of powerlessness
* Mental confusion or indecision
* Palpitations or panic attacks
* Vivid dreams, restless sleep, insomnia or nightmares

Water – kidney & bladder meridians
* Cystitis, frequent urination or bladder infections
* Constant tiredness, lethargy or low libido
* Fear and phobias, timidity and lack of confidence
* Learning difficulties, poor memory recall, slow development
* Premature graying of hair, loss of hair, thin hair, spilt ends, lack of shine

Metal – lung & large intestine meridians
* 3am waking
* Constipation
* Dryness of skin, psoriasis or eczema
* Feeling uninspired, stuck or hopeless
* Frequent colds and infection, low immunity

Wood – liver & gall bladder meridians
* Difficulty digesting fatty foods, allergies and low tolerance to alcohol
* Frustration, anger, aggression, irritability and extreme nervous tension
* Having no direction in life
* Nauseous headaches and migraines
* Weak eyesight, sore, tired, dry eyes and spots in front of eyes

Once you have totalled up your score, the element that has the higest score represents the meridians that you need to work on first. By building and directing the flow of Chi in the affected meridian/s you will enhance your physical and mental health and reduce the chance of dis-ease.

    To understand the importance of the adrenals in your body's response to stress, let's start by looking at what your adrenals glands do. Your adrenal glands are essential to life as they help you cope with all types of stress. As part of the endocrine system, their role is to govern the fight or flight response (alarm reaction) and get you ready for action. They do this by producing several important hormones including cortisol, epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine.
