Ayurvedic Colon Cleansing Approach

There are three kinds of toxins that are known in Ayurveda-ama, garvisha and amavisa. Of the three, Ama is the most common of all. Ama is the kind of waste that we accumulate inside our bodies when the food that we take in goes through incomplete digestion. To describe what Ama really is, it carries a foul odor with a sticky consistency and originates in our digestive tracts. Whenever we eat foods that we aren't used to ingesting, we get indigestion which signals that we have accumulated Ama toxins. The quantity of food that you take in also affects the production of Ama;too little or too much food is bad for our system. Ama is formed when you have remaining food in your digestive tract that you cannot naturally eliminate. Finally, when the food is left to ferment for a long time it starts traveling out of the digestive tract and into other parts of our body.

Toxins especially Ama start making a mess out of our system when it travels out of our tracts and into other parts of our body. This is because the toxins start blocking our shrotas or micro circulatory channels. Because our shrotas are now blocked, the micronutrients that we absorb will have a harder time getting distributed in our body. Ama also disturbs our system's efficiency on eliminating our bodily wastes. Whenever our digestive fires called Agni isn't strong enough, the Ama toxin is produced much easier.

Therefore, you will have to modify your diet as well as take supplements to strengthen your Agni. Your body will get rid of those unwanted Ama toxins through Ayurvedic detox cleansing.
