Blood Clot Symptoms

Blood clotting is an intrinsic part of the body's natural processes which causes blood cells and particles of fibrin (which is a naturally occurring substance found in the body that adapts itself in response to injury) to quickly form a solid 'clump' of matter which acts to stop the flow of blood after a blood vessel has been damaged through injury or trauma, or non-traumatic causes.

Lovenox is a subcutaneous (skin tissue) injection given primarily in the abdominal area to prevent clots from developing in the blood. It also has to be pointed out that Heparin and Lovenox are not the same. As we all know Heparin has been in the news quite a bit lately from fatal and near fatal doses being mistakenly administered in the hospital setting.

The symptoms of a blood clot include:

1-Pain in the leg
2-Redness/swelling
3-Warm to touch
4-Fever
5-Shortness of breath
6-Chest pain

Now you can appreciate that by taking vitamin k clotting of blood can be controlled along with other benefits to prevent osteoporosis, cardiovascular problems etc. I will recommend you to take a total balanced nutrition instead of only vitamin k. If you take too much it will be counter productive. Go for holistic approach.

Blood Clot Treatment

So, your doctor has told you that you have a blood clot. You will probably be given a blood thinner to treat it. In many cases you health care provider will have you follow this treatment plan:

During Week 1 - you will be given a medication called heparin. Heparin works rapidly. It is injected just under the skin using a very short small gauge needle. Your health care providers will instruct you on how this is done.

Many people have either no warning signs or very vague symptoms prior to forming a significant clot. The symptoms are usually: swelling in the leg and calf, redness and increased warmth in your leg, and pain in the inner thigh and calf.

which is required for the building of strong blood vessels. Stay active, taking walks several times daily while wearing loose fitting, comfortable shoes. Stretch regularly, particularly your legs and practice deep breathing, cycling and swimming. Herbal remedies are excellent for preventing and reducing the occurrence of blood clots, however if you are prone to thrombosis discuss all herbal or other remedies with your doctor.

causes:-

1-Trauma to a blood vessel due to an accident, surgery, fracture or burn
2-Heart attack or stroke in the recent past
3-Heart valve disease
4-Heart failure
5-Atherosclerosis
6-Auto-immune disorders like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis)

The type of treatment that is given depends on where the clot has formed and whether it is in a vein or an artery. A clot that has formed in an artery and caused a heart attack or stroke can be dissolved by using thrombolytic medications that are given through an IV. If a clot forms in a vein there is a risk that it could dislodge and end up in a lung.

A person can experience many possible effects with a blood clot. For example, if they have deep vein thrombosis, also referred to as DVT, which is located within the veins of the pelvic or legs, can suffer from any of the following symptoms: prominent veins, discoloration, tenderness, swelling, or pain within the muscles of the legs or the calf.

The most common culprits of preventable deaths in U.S. hospitals are blood clots. When a person is immobile for an extended period of time, a clot can develop in the large veins in their legs or arms. 25,000 Americans are killed every year when a clot or piece of a clot travels from other parts of their bodies to their lungs, a condition known as a pulmonary embolism.

The above description of how this system works is stripped down to make it easier to understand. The fact is the blood clotting system within the human body is incredibly complex. Without the proper components in just the right amounts, activated at just the right time blood clotting would not work and the organism would not survive.

When people say hemorrhoid they are usually referring to the symptoms and not the actual physical ailment. Although the thrombosed or clotted hemorrhoid is actually a physical thing in the body that becomes inflamed, swollen, choking the blood vessels attached to the anus that assist in helping one's bowel movement, the actual term hemorrhoid is describing the symptoms more than anything else.

A blood clot is a natural process that takes place in order to protect us from draining all of its blood when you bleed. However, in some cases, it can be a very dangerous condition as it can lead to an embolism. Hence your life can be threatened by it that is moving freely in your veins, as it may get clogged somewhere in which it can cause you serious medical complications.

Preventing a blood clot:

1-Stay active.
2-Do not wear tight pants, socks, or shoes
3-If your health care provider prescribed them, wear compression stockings (TED hose)
4-Do not cross your legs (especially above the knee)
5-Decrease the amount of salt in your diet
6-Stop smoking

What is a varicose vein, anyway? It's a vein that has become long-drawn-out and swollen with blood. To know how that happens, let's learn a bit about what veins do. Blood in the veins is then transported to the heart and return to the lungs, where the waste carbon dioxide is released and more oxygen is loaded by the blood and taken back to the rest of the body by the arteries.
