SLS or sodium lauryl sulfate is also known to cause dryness in the mouth, thereby making the oral cavity vulnerable to sores and trauma. Make sure you use SLS-free toothpaste and mouthwash all the time. You should also keep your mouth clean to avoid bacterial infection. Frequent mouth washing or gargling is recommended. You should also change your toothbrush every 4 months or so.

2. Things to Take

Try to fast on carrot juice for 1 to 3 days, to get rid of toxins in your body. This will also clear and eliminate bacteria that are known to be a cause. Drink 2 ounces of wheat grass juice or liquid chlorophyll two to three times each day. You should also drink 8 to 10 glasses of water every day to stay hydrated and avoid dryness in the mouth. Eat more soft grained food and lightly cooked vegetables. You should avoid very salty and oily foods, a number of dairy products if you're presenting allergic reactions, sweets and animal protein until the canker sore has fully recovered.

You can also take 15 to 30 drops of bayberry tincture, together with warm water 2 to 3 times each day. Another great cleanser and detoxifier is burdock. This will cleanse your blood and get rid of excess toxins and wastes. You should also try to take lobelia tincture to promote and boost healing of your canker sore for good.

3. Effective Solutions

Solution and sodium bicarbonate are known to be very useful in treating canker sores. Mix 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 cup of water. Gargle and swish the solution inside your mouth for 30 seconds, the spit everything out. You can also add 1.5 teaspoons of baking soda or sodium bicarbonate to the saline solution. Make a paste by combining baking soda with drops of water, until you create a good consistency. The paste will then be applied to the sores to get rid of pain. The alkaline level in the mouth will be normalized as a result. Hydrogen peroxide is also known to be good as cold sore treatment . Use a cotton swab to apply the solution right onto the sores. Another great treatment is milk of magnesia.
