Asthma is a respiratory disease characterized by difficulty in breathing. It is a chronic disease affecting lungs, characterized by inflammation in respiratory tract. The most visible signs are coughing with difficulty, tightness at chest and general difficulty breathing.
Asthma episodes can sometimes be mild, but at times it can be fatal. It is always a difficult time for people nearby seeing the difficulty breathing of infected person.
There is variety of factors that cause asthma. Stress, dust, fumes, cold air, climatic changes etc cause quick episodes of asthma conditions. Genetic reasons can contribute to asthma conditions.
According to Ayurveda, asthma condition is closely linked to poor digestion and difficulties in digestive system. Difficulty in proper elimination of digestive wastes causes them to accumulate in the respiratory tract, leading to inflammations. Thus one can conclude that Ayurvedic theory of asthma is directly linked to stomach problems.
Thus treatment of asthma starts with treating anomalies in digestive system. The primary aim is to flush out impurities accumulated on digestive tract to facilitate relief for respiratory tract.
The toxin substances usually come in contact with sensitive epithelial lining of wind pipe or trachea.
The natural course of action is to make some rearrangements with diet and treat any digestive problems. Keeping tab on your diet also helps. Some food items aggravate asthma. Avoid such food items. It is not always possible to keep away from unfavorable climate.
Avoid stress completely. Identify the reasons of your stress. It will help you manage asthma to a greater extent.
