A child fills the parents with immense joy. They make all efforts to raise the child in a healthy way. Cradle cap occurs mostly over the head of the child in patches. If your child is suffering from cradle cap, you need to take proper care. This disease is due to the improper metabolic functioning of your child. Once your child develops a healthy metabolism, the disease will itself disappear. For caring the affected area of your child, use mild baby shampoo. Rinse the area with normal temperature water and remove the crusty scales gently. During winters, follow it with luke warm water, as it will be very harsh for the child.
Use cotton swabs to mop the affected areas. Allow the areas to dry and wait till all the scales become dry. Use soft brush over the affected area to brush off the dry scales. After brushing the scales, apply oil, which can be mineral or vegetable and let the child’s head soak in. A repeated treatment will give the child a relief. There is no effective treatment for cradle cap other than care. You have to wait till your child becomes strong and get healed.
Cradle cap has to be treated like a skin disorder. A gentle and thorough care keeps the skin health of your child away from deterioration. Routine cleansing must be done with the use of products, which are soft on baby skin. Keep in touch with your medical practitioner for keeping your child healthy.
