Dysentery is an infection which is often considered as symptoms to other disease rather than a disease itself. It is a digestion problem and usually is considered intestinal problem that causes dehydration and mucous or blood in stool.It is a condition characterised by inflammation of the bowels. The inflammation results in severe stomach pains. Dysentery also involves severe diarrhea that is often associated with bood in the feces. Diarrhea can be fatal too if the body dehydrates completely. People purchase food which has been handled by contaminated hands and carelessly eat it without even washing it. Likewise many people careless1y drink water from a common drinking cup, or coffee and tea from a street vendor who merely rinses out the cup after it is used.

Dysentery can be transmitted in human through the food. When we leave our food uncovered the flies come and leak them with the moist materials that remain in their mouths after feeding on the decayed materials they carry bacteria with them that causes dysentery. Flies like moist places and are attracted to smell of fermenting materials. Because water is essential to life and performs several important functions, the amount we lose daily through urination and perspiration must be continuously replaced. And there's no better way to do this than by drinking plenty of water and eating lots of fruits and vegetables which are made of approximately 80 to 95 percent water. There are air borne diseases and water borne diseases. Among the waterborne diseases, dysentery is the biggest problem. Hepatitis, cholera, polio, typhoid, Wheel's Disease, etc also pose serious health threats during the rainy season.

The symptoms of Amoebic Dysentery may be very vague and minimal particulary for those who live in a temperate climate. The attacks are usually intermittent with diarrhea
and constipation, increased flatulance and abdominal cramps. The abdomen may be tender to touch and stools may contain mucus and blood.
