The esophagus is the tube that connects the mouth to the stomach. When a tear occurs in the tube, the condition is known as Oesophagien rupture. 3. Administer IV fluids, and administer IV antibiotics to prevent or treat infection.
4. Fluid that has collected around the lungs may be treated with a chest tube to drain it away.
