Many people are afflicted with gallstones whether they realize they have them or not. What are gallstones? They are hardened masses that may vary in size, usually consisting mainly of cholesterol and bile. They may be caused by a variety of conditions such as infection, too much fat in the diet, anemia, liver disease, obesity, diabetes and even pregnancy. People that are overweight seem to be more prone to gallstones as are women who have had two or more pregnancies.
Although it is not known why, women in general seem to have a higher incidence of gallstones than men. Symptoms usually include pain or discomfort in the abdomen as well as nausea and indigestion. But many people that have gallstones have no symptoms at all. Often people do not know they have gallstones until they have a gallbladder attack.
Causes
1. Fat! You may have a few extra pounds around the waist! Studies show that 2 out of 3 adults are overweight. It is also documented that 1 out of 4 adults are obese. If you are part of this category, you run an increased risk of suffering from gallstones. The first step is to check your Body Mass Index (BMI) and to begin a healthy diet and exercise program.
2. Forty! You may be in your 40s and beginning to realize that things are not working as well as they used to. Don't fret because you need to learn how to eat according to your body. When you had a 20 year old body; you could eat like a 20 year old. But now that you are forty; you may need to eat like a 40 year old. And because gallstones are typically caused by a poor diet, eating healthy at age 40 is extremely important.
Symptoms
* A mild stomach pain often just below the rib cage or in the pit of your stomach. This pain may come and go but often happens after a meal that is high in fat has been eaten.
* If you have gallstones that block a bile duct, you may experience nausea or vomiting..
* Your skin or eyes may be jaundiced (yellow tinted) if the bile duct blocks.
* A back pain usually between the shoulder blades is felt by some people.
Home Remedy
When you're suffering from the pain of gallstones you do have a choice in your treatment. Your can either use a home remedy for gallstones, or you can undergo gallbladder surgery. Gallbladder surgery is the only option your doctor will give you but in a lot of cases surgery is unnecessary for the removal of gallstones. You naturally remove gallstones quite easily in the comfort of home.
Gallbladder surgery is definitely a procedure that is needed, but it should be a last resort for alleviating the symptoms of gallstones. If you're suffering from gallbladder disease then surgery isn't an option, it's a necessity. Stones on the other hand can be passed out of your gallbladder over night naturally and without any expensive surgery.
Treatment
1. Oral Dissolution Therapy - This treatment has been gaining popularity because it works best for small, cholesterol-based gallstones. Medicines for this treatment are actually made from acid naturally found in bile. The acids will dissolve the gallstones and your body will be able to naturally flush the cholesterol from the body. The downside of this treatment is it could take months before the gallstone is dissolved.
2. Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse Treatment - This treatment does exactly what it states! Through the years, toxins, impurities, pollutants, cholesterol begin to build up in your liver and gallbladder. Our natural health doctor would recommend an annual flush to keep the liver and gallbladder working effectively. A simple step-by-step cleanse is explained in detail in our report.
